The Paxton Gambit
The Habitat Core descends in four massive semicircular terraces, from the Executive Tower to the base of the Storm Wall. Status in caste society determines where one lives: the higher the caste, the higher the terrace.
Hidden in this architectural jungle are pockets of sunlit parks, small plazas thronging with people and ringed by shops and various establishments. Most areas are decorated or painted, and even the Storm Wall is lit up at night.
Moving between the terraces is done via a series of mass transit tubes. The cost for going up a terrace depends on the caste status of the individual. Executives pay no cost. They simply scan their ID and can easily get a ticket. Management caste members pay P$2.00. Those of the worker caste pay P$3.00
